Dermatosparaxis is an inherited autosomal recessive disorder of connective tissue. We describe the clinical and pathological findings with dermal lesions characterized by thin, loose skin that was easily detached, affecting three out of 45 calves, in a 100 red Aberdeen Angus cows. Histopathological findings were consistent with dermatosparaxis, characterized by loss and disorder of the collagenous substance of the dermis. Anamnesis suggested that the semen used from a red Aberdeen Angus bull, which could carried the genetic alteration in these cases. This is the first description of a clinical disease compatible with dermatosparaxis in red Aberdeen Angus cattle in Argentina.
