Nutrición de precisión en la vaca de cría

Resumen

Culturalmente la nutrición en las vacas de cría no suele ser un aspecto relevante a considerar para los planteos ganaderos y es poco el conocimiento que tienen los sistemas acerca del impacto que tiene la misma en la performance de los futuros terneros. La programación fetal produce efectos directos en el desarrollo fetal del ternero dentro del útero materno alterando de manera persistente su vida. Se ha comprobado que una mala nutrición, especialmente proteica, durante el último tercio de la gestación impacta sobre el numero total de fibras musculares en la progenie, el peso al nacimiento y peso final de los mismos, afectando no solo el crecimiento del musculo y rendimiento de la carcasa de terneros destinados para carne, sino también la performance reproductiva de vaquillonas para reposición. A su vez el exceso de proteína durante este estadio de gestación no ha provocado cambios negativos ni positivos en el crecimiento y desarrollo de los terneros hijos de madres alimentadas bajo esta condición. Se ha demostrado a través de diferentes investigaciones que la nutrición del animal comienza durante la gestación repercutiendo directamente en la futura performance productiva y reproductiva de los bovinos, conociendo esto y a través de nuevos estudios y experiencias venideras se podrán diseñar prácticas de manejo precisas sobre la nutrición de la hembra gestante para promover una mayor eficiencia productiva del ganado de carne.
